Tamil horror movie Kanchana 2 has been the talk of the tinsel town since the day of its release. Here`s another piece of good news for all the Akki fans out there! Akshay Kumar will be playing the lead in the Raghava Lawrence starrer Telugu and Tamil movie Kanchana 2. Akshay Kumar  remake of  Kanchana 2  is a Tamil horror-comedy flick that promises chuckle, cower, cry and at times, cringe. Kanchana franchise is starting to gain increased acceptance among the paying audiences and even critics.

Akshay Kumar seems to be on a roll this year. With a long list of back to back films to his name, here is another new addition to it. As per reports coming in, Akshay Kumar will be seen in the remake of Kanchana 2.

The trade analyst of the South Film Industry, Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to share this news. He tweeted, “@akshaykumar to remake @offl_Lawrence – @taapsee ‘s 2015 Blockbuster #Kanchana2 in Hindi..”

There is no official confirmation as of now from Akshay’s side but his fans are already excited to watch Bollywood’s Khiladi in this horror-comedy flick. Kanchana 2, was a huge hit in the South Indian film industry. The film featured actor Raghava Lawrence in a double role, along with Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menon and Kovai Sarala in pivotal roles. The film Kanchana 2 apart from amassing critical appreciation also did well at the box office.

The plot of the film revolves around a small group of employees from a famous TV channel who as a marketing tactic, try to capture ghosts and paranormal spirits. They choose a dark, spooky house and try creating fake ghost effects to scare the audience. But they had no idea as to what would happen next with them. Their fun turns into a nightmare when strange things start happening around them and they are chased by real ghosts.

Akshay will also reportedly play an anti-hero with 12 different looks in the movie 2.0. A few days back, the makers of 2.0 have released a few posters of the film, which have made the wait a little tad-bit. Rajinikanth reprises the role of Dr. Vaseegaran and his creation Chitti the Robot in the sequel to 2010 blockbuster Enthiran.

Sara Ali Khan, who is preparing for her Bollywood movie `Kedarnath` has been out on the town working thoroughly towards making it a success. That’s not it. It appears as though she is as of now on the wishlist of numerous producers manifesting an enthusiasm in casting the rising star in their movies.

A few days ago, Sara was snapped stretching out a formal handshake to producer Ashutosh Gowariker outside his office in Khar. Soon, the media has been swirling with what could have unfolded in the meeting and speculations have been overflowing regardless of whether another film is on the cards including Sara. A source said, “Before the young actress paid Ashu a visit, the latter had dropped by on his good friend Abhishek Kapoor. He saw some rushes of the love story, Kedarnath, which features Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara. The Jodhaa Akbar director came away mighty impressed with her screen presence and performance. So, he wants to cast her in his own movie.”

Sara Ali Khan is right now bustling shooting for `Kedarnath` opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Abhishek Kapoor `Kedarnath` is the romantic tale of two youngsters, set in the scenery of the 2013 Kedarnath disaster. The Abhishek Kapoor directed film is set to release on December 21, 2018.

Upcoming film Kedarnath is written, directed and co-produced by Abhishek Kapoor. It features Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles, which marks the latter`s debut in acting.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat has been in the line of fire ever since the production kicked off! That infamous slap-attack at the maverick Bollywood director followed by Deepika Padukone’s head-hunt, succeeded by Censor’s cuts and States’ Ban, tailed by infightings and ridiculous public debates on social media, the film is embroiled in a jinx of the most diabolical making.

The film is touted to be the most expensive Hindi language film ever and the 2^nd most expensive Indian film behind Baahubali: The Conclusion which was made at 250 crores. Here is a penny count of the magnum opus.

The Top Billed Cast of Deepika Padukone (12 Crores), Shahid Kapoor (8 Crores) and Ranveer Singh (8 Crores) took 28 Crores in total. Padmaavat has a large ensemble and big cast taking away an estimated 10 crores in total. This adds up to 38 Crores.

The writing, research, and planning is a minimum of 1 Crore.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who has been against the setup of exhibiting the "smoking is hurtful to prosperity" disclaimers in the midst of a film, on Sunday assaulted it by said it was "fun" to watch it in the midst of `Darkest Hour`. "It`s agreeable to watch the `smoking warning` all through the film as Churchill puffs away on his stogie while endeavoring to understand his method in his `Darkest Hour`," This is what tweet by Anurag kashyap  on Darkest Hour.

`Darkest Hour` features on-screen character Gary Oldman portraying Winston Churchill. The entertainer won his first Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama arrangement. Battle of Saragarhi?

In September 1897, over 10,000 Afghan tribesmen of the Orakzai and Afridi tribe attacked Saragarhi, North Western Frontier Province (NWFP). The Sikh regiment, under the leadership of Havildar Ishar Singh, knew that they were outnumbered but they still held their ground and fought for several hours.

Not a Fiction!!!

Battle of Saragarhi is considered one of the greatest battles in the history of war. 21 Sikhs taking on an army of 1000’s valiantly is something you will have never heard of!!

On September 12, 1897, in Saragarhi in Tirah region of North-West Frontier Province, (now in Pakistan) 21 Sikhs all part of the British India regiment, stood in unison,  protecting the forts of Lockhart and Gulistan on the border areas of Afghanistan. These forts were always under the frequent attacks of Afghans.

On that fateful day, 10,000’s of Afghan soldiers attacked Saragarhi.  Sardar Gurmukh Singh called the British commander about the attack and asked him to send reinforcements; however, the commander was unable to send an army at such a short notice and asked them to retreat.

And their war cry fills the air...

However, the battalion didn’t retreat, instead, it defended its post against the Afghan soldiers and even managed to successfully thwart two attacks from the enemies.

 Their war cry was “Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal”.

The fearless warrior

Gurmukh Singh himself killed around 20 Afghans and he was one of the last men to die. However, the final attack was too powerful for them, as all of them perished and their post was destroyed. But they had bought enough time for the British to bring in reinforcements and destroy the enemies.

The Brave hearts

None of them survived to tell the tale.

All the perished soldiers were posthumously awarded the Indian Order of Merit, the highest gallantry award of that time. An epic poem Khalsa Bahadur was also composed in their memory, while their feats were taught in textbooks in Punjab. Saragarhi Day, is a Sikh military commemoration day celebrated on 12 September every year to commemorate The Battle of Saragarhi.

No 300 cuts for Padmavat hints CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi

Padmavat has finally waded through all controversies and found its way to silver screens.

The periodic drama Padmavat based on a 16th-century poem written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi is set for release on 25^th January 2018. It has been at the center of controversies for past one year, ever since Bhansali began shooting in January last year in Jaipur. The film got stuck after various Rajput groups alleged that it distorts history, a claim repeatedly denied by the director. Historians are divided on whether Padmini actually existed.

A report earlier suggested that the makers have been asked to drop all references to Delhi, Chittoor, and Mewar -- regions that add crucial context to the film`s historical nature.In all, the cuts amount to a staggering 300 and Bhansali is racing against time at an editing studio to incorporate the diktats of the Censor Board, which is headed by noted lyricist-writer Prasoon Joshi. Mr.Joshi has however denied any such rumor and has urged media to ‘refrain from utilizing CBFC’s name unnecessarily’. So, no 300 cuts for  Padmavat .

“The makers have submitted the final film with agreed five modifications which have already been communicated and a U/A certificate has been given to the film. CBFC’s process is complete and any further news about cuts is absolutely untrue. Let’s refrain from utilizing CBFC’s name unnecessarily,” Joshi told IANS.

Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali Padmavat movie was supposed to release on December 1, 2017, last year but due to ongoing controversy with fringe elements, the release had to be deferred to a later date. Just a couple of days ago, it was announced that the film will now release on January 25, 2018, but this announcement resulted in various states government like Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh banning the film.

The movie would lock horns with Akshay Kumar’s Padman, featuring, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead roles. It is the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham and his journey of finding a way to make cheap sanitary napkins for women who cannot afford it. Some serious box office clash!!!

A couple of months ago KJo shared the poster of the movie Dhadak. Ishan and Jhanvi looked completely love-struck and we can't just get enough of this cute-as-a-button couple already! Reportedly, Dhadak is an official remake of award winning Marathi film Sairat. Nagraj Manjule's Sairat which received plaudits was a realistic depiction of the brutality of caste apartheid. In Sairat a spoilt daughter of the wealthy political kingpin falls in love with a lower caste fisher man's boy and the villagers erupt in violence to keep the lovers apart. Frustrated by all the chaos, the lovers flee to a new city for a new life and that's where the tragedy strikes. This story of young love struggling to find happiness despite the harsh social rules was an instant hit across the country.

The filmmakers have already started the first leg shooting of Ishan Khatter and Jhanvi Kapoor starrer Dhadak. Dhadak marks the debut of Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishan Khattar. Salman Khan

After Tubelight’s terrible performance at the box office (according to the standard of Salman Bhai’s films), Salman Bhai was back with a storm with Salman Khan Tiger Zinda Hai which has become the highest grossing Hindi cinema of 2017. However, for next year, Salman is all set to roar on the silver screen with the third installment of the popular action franchise, Race. Helmed by Remo D’Souza, Race 3 is scheduled for an Eid release on June 14 this year.

After a huge controversy finally Sanjay Leela Bhansali's  190 crore baby 'Padmavati'...correction! 'Padmavat', will get the long-awaited certificate from the Central Board of Film. So Now Padmavati changes to Padmavat.

The filmmakers, producers and the director of the movie are reported to have agreed to the changes. Amidst celebrations and uproars, rumors of having considerable cuts to the movie came up, in order to qualify the same for public viewing.

CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi dismisses rumors of Padmavati cuts: Only 5 changes to new Padmavat. Modifications to the film including a change in the title to 'Padmavat' - and will issue the certificate once the modifications are made.

A member of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has dismissed the rumors, that the board has asked for several cuts in the controversial film 'Padmavati'. Vani Tripathi Tikkoo said that the CBFC has only suggested few modifications in the movie. Those included changing the title to

'Padmavat' and other key modifications such as not glorifying the practice of Sati. Also relevant modifications in the song 'Ghoomar' are to be made to serve the character portrayed, after which it would be given a UA certificate.

The period drama Padmavati is based on the legend a 12th Century Hindu Rajput queen, Rani Padmini, mentioned in Padmavat, an Avadhi poem written by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540. The movie faced the brunt of anger from various groups, including  Karni Sena, for allegedly distorting with historical facts.

"Stop the Misinformation Campaign for God sake on Padmavati, CBFC has not asked for any cuts with the U/A certificate it's only a few modifications and a title change with the consent of the filmmaker. It's finally over so let the film release and judge it then!", quoted Tikkoo.
