Veerey Ki Wedding Trailer review!

Veerey Ki wedding Trailer  Review

The trailer of the most anticipated movie of the year has finally arrived. The trailer of “ Bollywood movie Veerey Ki Wedding” was launched yesterday and since then it has been creating a lot of positive buzz among the movie lovers. The trailer has been well appreciated by the critics and people just love the first look of the movie. The actors have put up a great performance in the movie and if you haven’t gone through the trailer yet then just watch and enjoy it.

Ok, now after thoroughly going through YouTube and all sorts of social media, you will be utterly confused as you didn’t saw any trace of the Kareena Kapoor Khan’s starrer movie. Don’t get confused as, it’s not the trailer of the most anticipated movie of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer Veerey Di Wedding but it’s of Veerey Ki Wedding which stars Jimmy Shergill, Pulkrit Samrat and Kriti Kharbanda and in pivotal roles. And it’s also surely not “The” one of the most anticipated movie trailers that you all have been eagerly waiting for.

The trailer which roughly runs around 3 minutes (2.42) intends to be a laugh riot, but certainly fails to do it. Veer (Pulkit Samrat) tries to imitate his god father Salman Khan and is seen beating up the goons as he loves to solve problems of people. His first dialogue in the trailer, Main Logon ki Problem Solve Karta Hoon (I solve people’s problem) is his life motto and is backed by his elder brother Balli, played by Jimmy Shergill who himself in the movie is a bigger goon. While looking through the trailer, one can truly sense in the first few seconds that Pulkit miserably fails to portray the character of a young angry macho man.

The trailer then unfolds the love interest of Veer, Geet played by Kirti Kharbanda with typical Bollywood style of dancing and singing. What unfolds next is a verbal spat between the families of Veer and Geet, disagreement of Geet’s family to let Geet marry to Veer, Balli trying to interfere to persuade Geet’s parents for the marriage by giving a typical “Gunda” type “Dhamki “and then all twists and turns which makes us guessing will they Geet and Veer marry or not. (They sure will, by going through the title of the movie).

The problem of Veerey Ki wedding lies in its theme itself and also in its execution. How long will Bollywood try these all funky stories without any logic and sense and expect audience to come at theatres??? The same old story of an angry young man, who knows nothing but beating goons for right cause, falling in love with a smart sexy girl, then both want to get married but then the girls family interrupt and for the girl her family’s wish is also her wish and after all the pain and agony there is a happy ending. We are literally bored in watching these stories over and over again.

The execution of this movie also seems a total failure. Boasting it to be a family entertainer and trying to make the audience laugh in every second of its trailer, majorly it fails to do so. Pulkit Samrat is just like a robot delivering his dialogues and dancing, Kirti’s acting is sometimes good and spontaneous and the only advantage that Veerey ki wedding can actually boast off is the screen presence of Jimmy Shergill. He is back in playing the role he is more suited, i.e. waiting since infinity to get married and also his dialogue, Dekhiye teen chare hai, Rahul, Salman Bhai aur Main, aur hamne aapse main decide kia hai, jisdin bhi shaddi karenge ikkathe karenge (see, there are three eligible bachelors, Rahul (Gandhi), Salman Bhai and me, we have decided to marry in the same day) is eventually the best comic line in the movie. The supportive staff Satish Kaushik, Supriya Karnik and Yuvika Choudhary, which consists the family of Veer and Geet tries to add to the humour quotient but fails because of the loud acting and weak direction.

The only positivity in the trailer, apart from Jimmy Shergill is the music running in the background which seems to be a good dance number for all the parties this year. So, probably it is better to skip the upcoming movie Veerey ki Wedding and take part and enjoy in Veere Di Wedding.
